Conventions for companies and their sales networks

Bringing the team together around a shared direction.

A convention is a chance to explain the strategy, present what is new and open conversations with the people who have to put it into practice. At Mariona Agency we design and produce company conventions, sales gatherings and network meetings from Barcelona. We connect the content with the staging so the day follows a sequence that makes sense and has a real reason to bring everyone together.

Everything the organisation needs to say, in a clear order

A convention usually brings together leadership goals, product news, figures, awards and time for networking. If each block is developed separately, the programme can end up as a string of talks with no thread running through them.

We work on the story of the day before designing its pieces. We define what the audience has to understand at the start, how the arguments unfold and what is best kept for the close. From that structure we prepare formats, materials and transitions that help keep the focus.

How we think about conventions

A day full of talks may not leave a clear message.

We build the story of the day, and every block finds its place.

The team goes back to work heading in the same direction.

Animation: the blocks of a day, in no particular order, line up along a thread that connects them; below, a team in which everyone faces a different way ends up facing the same direction.

Clear Flow and Human First

Clear Flow

A clear programme shows in the room: every speaker knows what they are there to say and how it links to the next. We organise content, timings and transitions so the day is easy to follow, from the opening to the close.

Human First

A convention brings together people who will later have to explain what they have heard. We prepare the speakers and think about everyone in the room, so each person takes away a clear reference for their day-to-day work.

What makes up a convention

  1. Concept and story of the day

We find an idea that gives the occasion its meaning and connects the blocks. The concept guides the pre-event communication, the stage and the experience without replacing the content.

  2. Presentations and audiovisuals

We organise the speakers’ messages and develop the agreed materials. We take care of data hierarchy, on-screen legibility and visual consistency from one talk to the next.

  3. Set design and experience

We design the setting with visibility, circulation and product needs in mind. Display, meeting and break areas are built into the logic of the programme.

  4. Run of show and production

We plan timings, entrances, transitions and technical requirements. Coordinating teams and suppliers means the live show can be prepared with clear responsibilities and sequences.

Preparing the people who take the stage, too

A presentation’s design has to support the speaker’s explanation. We look at how speech, images and the time available fit together, and plan the agreed rehearsals. We can also prepare follow-up materials, so the sales network or the team has a shared reference when they return to their work.

How we organise the project

  1. Understand

We review the goals, audience, messages and the needs of the teams taking part.

  2. Clarify

We build the common thread and put the programme in order.

  3. Design

We develop the stage, the content and the communication materials.

  4. Refine

We fine-tune running times, presentations, technical checks and transitions.

  5. Launch

We coordinate the live event and the follow-up deliverables included in the project.

Questions about conventions

Can you work with content prepared by our team?

Yes. We can start from existing presentations, data and messages. We review them to give them narrative and visual continuity, while approval of the information stays with the people responsible at the company.

Can one convention include different brands or business units?

Yes. The programme needs to make clear what they share and what each one needs to explain. The content architecture and the staging help their differences make sense within the whole.

Do you also prepare the communication before and after?

It can be part of the scope: invitations, accreditation, materials for attendees and follow-up pieces. We define it according to the goals of the day and the client’s channels.
